During 2018, Team Autside worked closely with mi-space, a contractor that, amongst other things, provides maintenance and renovations on a large scale in the social housing sector, to develop and deliver content specifically around supporting Autistic/neurodiverse clients in the course of their work.
Interest in the training was high, and mi-space acknowledged this need by commissioning this training not only for their own staff, but also related professionals in the sector. Feedback from those that attended our housing module has been overwhelmingly positive, and we expect to roll this training out further across Wales to a number of clients in the housing sector.
Donna and Emma are due to speak at the 1BH (One Big Housing) Welsh conference at Llandrindod Wells next week (11th October) on behalf of mi-space, and last Friday received the fantastic news that mi-space and Autside have been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Housing Welsh Housing Award 2018 for our combined work on this topic.
We at Team Autside are thrilled and would like to thank mi-space, particularly business development manager Matt Howells, for supporting us in researching, developing and delivering such much needed content. It is our sincere hope that the training we have provided this year and hope to continue providing in the future, will increase understanding and thus tailored support for Autistic people in this important part of their lives.
